The Beehive

Home > Photo Galleries > The Beehive

The beehive is a steep chunk of granite at the southern end of Champlain Mt. that offers spectacular views of the sand beach, the salt marsh behind it, and the ocean beyond it. Our climb up this challenging slope served two purposes, to observe just how isolated the sand beach habitat is from any similar habitat, and for the pure fun of climbing.
