We visited two different eel grass communities on the island. The first was in Ship Harbor, the small, enclosed harbor behind the tidal riffle along the southern coastline of the island near Wonderland. The second was at the mud flat community along the sand bar in the harbor at the town of Bar Harbor. The two sites were similar in floral make-up (primarily Zostera marina) though we found a more typical distribution of eel grass fauna at the Bar Harbor site, including sand dollars.
