Great Meadow and Lowland StreamHome > Photo Galleries > Great Meadow and Lowland Stream The Great Meadow is one of two sites we visited in order to study freshwater stream communities. The stream we examined at this site was a typical, meandering lowland stream, high in organic content, with a very low flow rate (we could measure no flow while we were there). Using nets, we examined the bottom sediment for life and identified what we could. The other stream site was a rapidly flowing highland stream on the flanks of Sargent Mountain.
